BBCC hosts welding competition
A young welder keeps her focus as she works on sculpture of the Moses Lake High School mascot Friday morning at Big Bend Community College. The friendly welding competition brought welding day students from three high schools together to network, show off their skills and enjoy a at BBCC.

Welders from Newport took home first prize for their sculpture of the school mascot, a grizzly bear.
A group of MLHS welders took second prize in the competition on Friday for this sculpture with the Mavs bull emblem in a disk mounted to a sawhorse with the school’s mascot name.
Finalizing the top three teams at the competition was another group from MLHS who went with a bucking bull sculpture.
The Columbia High School Lions represented their school with this roaring lion bust at Friday’s event.
MOSES LAKE – Students from Moses Lake High School, Columbia High School and Newport High School participated in a friendly welding competition Friday morning at Big Bend Community College. Teams of students split into six teams to weld metal sculptures inspired by their school mascots.
