GALLERY: Bright colors at the Grant County Fair barns
Sunflowers come in a wide variety of colors, as shown in this example from among the flowers displayed at the fair. The bright yellow with vibrant orange interior garnered a blue ribbon with its flawless petals.

Young folks in 4-H and similar programs learn a variety of skills that are timeless, including preserving fruits and vegetables through canning. Jams, jellies, pears and a plethora of canned vegetables earned top marks with blue ribbons acknowledging the skills young people had mastered.
The variety of fruits and vegetables grown in the Columbia Basin cannot be understated. Apples, grapes, plumbs, melons, peaches, tomatoes, tomatillos and more were all on display in the barns. Many were award winning with vibrant colors lighting up the room.
The Moses Lake Grange put out a bit of artistic flare with this mural made of legumes, corn and hard work showing a bit of patriotic flare at their display in the barns.
Millie, in dark, well-groomed fur with her eyes closed, shows off her humans, Danny and Jimmy in the 4-H barn where the family competed. Several well-loved and well-behaved pups also participated in the competition. 4-H participants also displayed sewing and other craft projects.
MOSES LAKE – The Grant County Fair offered a wide variety of entertainment, activities and competitions. Many of those competitions were on display in the various barns near the gates, which also added the benefit of some shade on the hotter days at the fair. Here is a look at some of what the barns – and a nearby display of tractors – had to offer.
