Tigers to walk the stage Friday
Emily Pugh, Brenden St. Mary and David Tempel will be the keynote speakers at this year’s Ephrata High School graduation. Pugh and St. Mary were chosen by this year’s graduating class to represent them on stage.
EPHRATA — Ephrata High School’s Class of 2024 will celebrate graduation at Kiwanis Field at 7 p.m. this Friday, per Ephrata School District staff.
Gates will open at 5:30 p.m. so families and friends can get seated and visit. EHS does not have a valedictorian or salutatorian, but instead chooses one staff member and two student speakers to provide keynote addresses. Students are nominated and selected by their classmates.
Student speakers this year are Emily Pugh and Brenden St. Mary, while David Tempel — who took the helm of EHS’s baseball program this year — will speak as a staff member. Tempel is also a social studies teacher.
