Grant Co. first responders recover remains near Crescent Bar
A man's remains were recovered from the cliff below the end of the access road for a cell tower just off Ancient Lakes Road near Crescent Bar Saturday.

CRESCENT BAR – Grant County first responders have recovered a body from a vehicle near Ancient Lakes Road, Grant County Sheriff’s Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said Saturday shortly before 8 p.m.
“At about 4:20 this afternoon, citizens at Crescent Bar noticed the remains of a vehicle on a shale slide near Cresent Bar, probably 100 feet from the river’s shoreline,” Foreman said. “Some people went over to check it out, they found a body with the vehicle and they called 911.”
The vehicle was difficult to access and first responders had to use a boat to recover the remains from the car which appeared to have dropped about 1,000 feet by Foreman’s estimation.
The name of the man who died in the incident is not being released until next of kin have been notified. The Grant County Coroner’s Office has custody of the remains and will work with the family and perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.
