MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Police Department officers and partners from nearby agencies raided a hotel room at the old Econo Lodge location in Moses Lake between KFC and the Moses Lake Public Library Friday afternoon at about 3 p.m.

In a brief statement, Cpt. Jeff Sursely said MLPD detectives had been alerted to a female being held against her will in an initially unknown hotel room.

“Through a thorough investigation, detectives determined the female’s location and that she was in physical danger.  The Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team was activated, and mutual aid was requested from Kittitas County and Ellensburg PD as well as the Spokane SWAT team,” Sursely wrote in his statement.

The Moses Lake Regional Tactical Response Team was activated and mutual aid was requested from the Ellensburg Police Department, Kittitas County, Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Spokane SWAT team.

When the mutual aid partners arrived, law enforcement conducted what Sursely described as a “successful tactical operation” at the former Econo Lodge site at 316 S. Pioneer Way in Moses Lake, detaining three as-yet-unidentified suspects.

The female victim, also not named as of Friday afternoon, is safe, Sursely said.

Both windows of unit 206 at the location were broken in and Sursely said minor damage had been done to the building, though no injuries were reported among the victim, officers or suspects.

Sursely said the investigation is ongoing and no further information is currently available to share with the public.
