MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake School District announced that Moses Lake School Board Member Kevin Fuhr has resigned from the board, citing health concerns, as of Friday.

“The district sincerely thanks Mr. Fuhr for his dedicated service and the positive

impact he has made on our school community,” the press release said.

A board member will follow existing policy to appoint a replacement for Fuhr whose term was set to expire in 2025.

Fuhr has faced multiple bouts of cancer and last year underwent surgery at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in the Seattle area to address liver cancer and part of his liver was removed. He has since been in ongoing treatment to deal with recovery and additional issues that have come up.

Fuhr also serves as the Moses Lake City City Manager. Prior to that, he served as chief of the Moses Lake Police Department.

No further information was available as of press time.
