GALLERY: Spring Fest Headliners
Montell Jordan followed Tone Loc’s performance with some crooning of his own on stage. Since his music career has taken a back seat to his work as a pastor, some of the songs he used to sing were only hinted at with him telling the crowd to stream one of the songs on the way home if they must, but he didn’t perform it anymore because it’s “nasty.”

Tone Loc appears on stage at Spring Fest. The first of the three headliners for this year’s festival, he performed several of his hits from the 1990s, including “Funky Cold Medina” and “Wild Thing.” The crowd appeared to enjoy the performance and even the younger fans were able to sing along to much of his set.
Vanilla Ice closed out Spring Fest’s musical lineup on Sunday with what some described as an hour-long dance party. He performed several of his own hits such as “Ice Ice Baby,” but also turned the tables on the DJ’s equipment and even touched on more modern music like M.I.A.’s “Paper Planes” – sometimes referred to as the “cash register song.” He also encouraged the crowd not to let the national media divide the nation, but to come together as a community that supports one another.

Michelangelo – one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles – performed with Vanilla Ice throughout his set after coming onstage for the performance of Ice’s song, “Ninja Rap.” That song was performed for the Turtles’ second feature film.
Vanilla Ice, his DJ and Michaelangelo work the crowd during their Spring Fest performance. The festival is put on by a volunteer crew that works to bring the annual tradition to Moses Lake. Volunteers, first responders, carnival staff, vendors and local officials work hard to make the event a safe and fun experience for the Columbia Basin.
