Basketballs and hearts became heavy around the world on Sunday as we learned of the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna and the seven other passengers aboard the helicopter that went down in Southern California. My love and support goes out to the families of all those on board. I can’t begin to imagine the pain an event like this brings.

BJ Garbe elected to WIAA Hall of Fame

MOSES LAKE — Former Moses Lake baseball player BJ Garbe has been elected to the Washington Interscholastic Athletics Association Hall of Fame. Garbe was the first athlete elected into the Moses Lake Hall of Fame when it was started by Greg Kittrell and Donnie Lindgren. Lindgren said he had the pleasure of informing Garbe that he’d been elected.
