Victoria Grace Haddican, 86, of Moses Lake, Washington, passed away on April 11, 2023. Victoria was born Dec. 18, 1937, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Victor and Grace Swanson. Victoria graduated from Tower City High School. She then attended Bemidji State University and earned her degree in elementary education. Victoria was a beloved teacher for 35 years. The majority of her teaching career was as a teacher for the Moses Lake School District. She influenced many with her love for teaching. Victoria made lifelong friends with those she taught alongside and treasured those friendships.

Moses Lake student wins trip to super bowl

Ninth grader, Jessica Williams, from Moses Lake represented the Dairy Farmers of Washington’s (DFW) Fuel to Play 60 (FUTP60) program at Super Bowl LII in Minneapolis. Williams won the trip for her role in kicking off the healthy eating and physical activity program at her high school. She is the only student in the nation to receive the opportunity from the dairy community to attend the big game between the Patriots and Eagles.

Ronald "Ron" Dee Vanderholm, 44, Moses Lake resident, passed away suddenly December 15, 2005 during basketball practice at Royal City High School. With deep sorrow, the Determan family announces the passing of Charles J. Determan, 86, on Jan. 31, 2025, in Moses Lake, Washington. Charles was surrounded by his beloved wife, Gloria Determan, and their two children Charlene Fuchs of Moses Lake, Washington, and Jerome Determan of Camas, Washington. Regrettably, his second child, Gail Peters, passed away on January 29, 2002. Charles is survived by his six grandchildren Jonathan Peters, Brittani Basilio, Jessica Pena, Nicholas Harle, Tate Determan and Brooklyn Determan, as well as seven great-grandchildren.
