Fire fought near Washtucna over weekend

WASHTUCNA - Firefighters work to put out a fire about two miles east of the city of Washtucna on Sunday. The fire had a portion of State Route 26 for part of the weekend. As of Sunday, the Adams County Sheriff’s Office reported that the highway was reopened and crews were working to put out hotspots as part of mop up efforts. Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner said the fire had started in Franklin County and moved across the county line and crews from both counties were on-hand to fight the blaze.
