UN judges to rule on Ratko Mladic appeal against convictions
THE HAGUE, Netherlands (AP) — Former Bosnian Serb military chief Ratko Mladic will hear Tuesday if U.N. judges have upheld or overturned his convictions and life sentence for masterminding genocide and other atrocities throughout Bosnia's 1992-95 war.

Ja Oscar Shines Sr.
Hearts were overjoyed with the birth of Ja Oscar Shines Sr. Oct. 29, 1932, in Fort Towson, Okla., to Granson and Martha Shines. Hearts were saddened with his passing on July 17, 2008, in Spokane. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Catherine Deloris Shines; his daughters Janice Thompson, Donna Bennett, Patricia Bradford; his son Joseph Shines; 12 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
