LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — A federal appeals court on Tuesday kept on hold an Arkansas law banning abortions 18 weeks into a woman's pregnancy and another banning the procedure from being performed because the fetus has Down syndrome.
Do you feel uncomfortable around them?
Twice a month, we have a care-giver come over to the house to be with our son, Benjamin, who has Down Syndrome. Her name is Delaina. We deeply appreciate the service that she offers. We are fortunate to have her present with Benjamin while we take time for ourselves.
Tim Flint
Tim Flint passed away on June 11, 2025, at the age of 85 in Othello, Washington. Tim is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years Susan Flint; daughters Dawn Donahoo (Doug), Kimberly Detwiler and Becky Jo Flint (Scott Rodgers); grandson Jake; and granddaughters Ashley, Alyson and Jessica. Tim was born in Los Angeles, California, and attended schools in California. He graduated from Sierra High School and went on to Reedley College. In 1959, a blind date led to a lifelong partnership with Susan and they married in 1960. His early career included PG&E of California, but Tim’s passion for the outdoors led him to pursue a career in Wildlife Management and a move to the Pacific Northwest. Encouraged by his wife, Tim returned to college in his 30s, earning a BS degree in Wildlife Resources from the University of Idaho in 1974. He immediately joined the Washington Department of Fish and Game, where he served with distinction until he retired in 1987 due to post-polio syndrome. Tim’s life was one of quiet determination, deep love for family and a strong connection to nature.
Dave Graybill: The Fishin' Magician
If you want to beat the crowds for Memorial Weekend, consider a trip to Buffalo Lake near Coulee Dam on the Colville Reservation. My fishing buddy Rollie Schmitten and I just spent some time at Buffalo Lake and had it almost to ourselves. It is a big, scenic lake, with excellent populations of rainbow trout, kokanee and largemouth bass.

Fishin' Magician: Dave Graybill
I got a chance to fish Potholes Reservoir with Brian Nielson, of BJs Guide Service, and another fishing buddy, James LeBow earlier this week. I planned on spending a couple of hours on the water with them and then checking on some of the lakes that opened on the first of April.
The Fishin' Magician: Early Spring Walleye
My fishing buddy Rollie Schmitten and I traveled to Northport, which is just south of the Canadian Border on the Columbia River, and spent two days fishing. This stretch of the Columbia flows much like it has for eons and the water is big and often wild.
The Fishin' Magician: Wanapum Dam, Priest Rapids, and White Bluff
I haven't been able to get down river to fish for fall salmon below Wanapum Dam, Priest Rapids or White Bluff myself, so I checked in with my buddy Shane Magnuson to see if there are any fish being caught down there.
