Dent proud of committee’s bipartisan effort in 2023 session
MOSES LAKE – Rep. Tom Dent, R-Moses Lake, said that there is a lot he has to be proud of from this session, but the thing he was most proud of was the bipartisan effort to tackle bills by him and several other lawmakers. “I think, for me, there were a lot of wins,” said Dent. “The kind of wins that you don’t see.”
ACPR on parvo hold for two weeks
OTHELLO – The Adams County Pet Rescue has been forced to shut down for two weeks after a fully vaccinated dog came down with canine parvovirus, known as parvo. The shelter cannot accept any dogs or adopt any dogs out until Nov. 2.

OLYMPIA — After two years of online and hybrid legislative sessions that severely restricted legislators’ direct contact during the pandemic, the Washington State House and Senate chambers were full of people reuniting and greeting each other during the opening of the state legislature on Monday. A main issue at the start of the session was moving past the COVID-19 pandemic and adopting new rules and procedures that allow for in-person and remote participation. President of the Senate Denny Heck, the lieutenant governor, said the rules are meant to help the communities who sent representatives to the legislature this session.

Elder William Gaston Graham was born Dec. 25, 1936. The eldest son of a sharecropper reigning from Raleigh, North Carolina, often Elder Graham would testify saying he was born one step from slavery and look how far God had brought him from. He was humbled that God took a little black boy from the tobacco fields and anointed him to preach the Gospel. He joined the U.S. Force April 15, 1954. He was stationed in Austin, Texas where he met the love of his life, Billie Joyce Bonner, at a skating rink. He called her “floor glider” because she could and loved to dance. His term of endearment for his wife remained “love of his life” and for 66 years they enjoyed the blessings of the covenant of marriage.
