Judge OKs housing for 7,000 LA homeless living near freeways
LOS ANGELES (AP) — A federal judge has approved an agreement in which the city and county of Los Angeles will provide housing for almost 7,000 homeless people who live near freeways and those over 65 or vulnerable to COVID-19, officials said Thursday.

PUBLIC NOTICE THE DEPARTMENT OF THE INTERIOR BUREAU OF RECLAMATION GOOSE ISLAND, POTHOLES RESERVOIR EPHRATA, WASHINGTON NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT: The Bureau of Reclamation, in accordance with 43 CFR 423 Subpart B, is providing public notice that Goose Island, in Potholes Reservoir, will be closed to the public from March 1 through September 15, 2017 during the dissuasion of the Caspian tern colonies on the island under the Inland Avian Predation Management Plan. There are no visitor facilities on the island. Public access will resume on September 16, 2017. City of Moses Lake Notice of Application and Public Hearing GGD Oakdale LLC submitted an application for a Shoreline Substantial Development Permit on November 19, 2018. The application was determined to be substantially complete and ready for review on November 28, 2018. The project location is 304 E. Broadway Avenue. The proposal is add 5,000 square feet to an existing 10,000 square foot retail building and create a 42-space parking lot. The project has been determined to be consistent with the City's Comprehensive Plan and the following development regulations are applicable to the project: City of Moses Lake Municipal Code Title 14 Environmental Regulations, Title 16 Buildings and Construction, Title 18 Zoning, Title 20 Development Review Process, and City of Moses Lake Shorelines Management Plan The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing for this project at 7:00 pm, January 10, 2019 in the City Council Chambers located at 401 S. Balsam. All interested parties are encouraged to attend and make comment. Comments on this proposal from public agencies with jurisdiction and comments on the environmental impacts of this proposal will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on December 24, 2018. Comments on other aspects of this proposal from the general public will be accepted up to the date of the public hearing. In addition, persons who want to be informed of future actions or the final decision on this proposal should provide their name and address to the project planner listed below. The final decision on this proposal will be made within 120 days of the date of the notice of completeness and may be appealed according to the City appeal provisions specified in Moses Lake Municipal Code 20.11, Appeals. Sandhill Crane Festival continues through Sunday
The Greater Othello Chamber of Commerce and the Columbia National Wildlife Refuge have teamed up to bring us another Othello Sandhill Crane Festival, centered at the Othello High School.
