Frank Charles Nelson

A much-loved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, Frank Nelson, 73, of Soap Lake, Washington, passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, December 21, 2013 with his grandson by his side. He had bravely lived with diabetes and the ensuing medical struggles it brought. He was born August 5, 1940 to Grant and Clytie Nelson in Sedro Woolley, Washington. He attended school in Conway and Mount Vernon. He graduated from Mount Vernon High School in 1958 and attended Skagit Valley Community College for a year. On December 31, 1962 he married Glenda Gee in Hamilton, WA. He has resided in the Soap Lake area for the past 41 years, having moved from Fir Island near Conway, Washington in 1973 to farm in the Lake View area.

Sean Patrick McMullen passed away April 7th, 2012 at his home in Moses Lake. He was 38 years old. He was born August 27th, 1973 to Patrick and Carla McMullen. Sean was a long time resident of Moses Lake, where he spent his youth playing baseball in the local little league, being a member of the boy scouts and attending school. Upon reaching adulthood, he worked many jobs but his interest laid in construction. As a member of the Carpenters Union, he worked on various construction projects in Las Vegas, and the Seattle metro area. He was always first to help with a landscaping or a home improvement project.

Child dies with gunshot; father jailed

A 4-year-old Othello boy died after an accidental shooting Saturday, and friends of the family have started a fundraising campaign to help cover funeral and medical expenses.

Marie Hart Walker October 4, 1926 - May 2, 2017

On Oct. 4, 1926 Marie Hart, was born to George Leland Hart and Emily Poole in the Idaho Falls LDS Hospital. She was a good student and graduated as Valedictorian from her high school. She married her high school sweetheart, George Walker. George and Marie were some of the early pioneers of Othello having moved to the area in 1955 and were very active in the growth of the church and the land development in this area. Marie was a quilter, a piano player (being self-taught). She loved words which included reading, crossword puzzles, and Scrabble. Marie held many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She passed away at her home, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 after a long illness. Her services will be held Saturday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Stake Center, 12th & Rainier St., Othello. A viewing and family gathering will take place the night before, Friday, May 5 at 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will also be a viewing preceding the funeral at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6.

Milton B. Robbins (Mitt), 87, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016, in Pasco, Wash. He was born on Dec. 10, 1928, in Rupert, ID to Hyrum and Laura Robbins. He met his sweetheart, Dorothy Field Robbins, in Kellogg, Idaho, where they were married. Mitt worked in the mines for a short time and also worked in a lumber yard in the Kellogg area.

Gloria Jean Evans (née Lee, Falls, Loman, Heintz), 84, was born on July 26, 1940, in Spokane, Washington to Earl and Ruth (Muto) Lee. She was later adopted by Harvey Falls in 1947. She passed away in her sleep at Sacred Heart Hospital on July 23 after a years-long illness, just three days short of her 84th birthday. Gloria graduated from Richland High School in Richland, Washington and was a proud Bomber. She went on to attend Kinman Business College. She worked in bookkeeping and as a teacher’s aide.

Henry 'Hank' Rittierodt

Henry “Hank” Rittierodt died December 29, 2009, in Spokane, WA at the age of 90. His loving daughter, Becky, was at his side. Hank was born in State Center, IA, on September 21, 1919, to Henry and Alvina Rittierodt. He joined sisters, Emma (Fred Hepperle) and Margaret (Howard Strode). As an infant, Hank survived the famous 1919 flu epidemic that had earlier claimed his father and a sister. The family moved to Loyalton, SD, where, in 1935, he graduated from high school. Hank met future wife, Dorothy Hoey in Yakima, WA and they were married on Valentine’s Day, 1942. Married 66 years, he and Dorothy raised a family; son, Michael and daughter, Becky. They lived in Moses Lake and Kennewick, before moving to Wenatchee to care for relatives. Later in life, the couple enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, Canada, Mexico, Europe, the Caribbean and, their favorite, Hawaii. Hank was a WWII Navy Veteran, serving at the Naval Air Station, Pasco and aboard ship in the South Pacific. A longtime resident of Kennewick, WA, he served his community in the Lion’s Club, Tri-City Country Club, the Elks, the Chamber of Commerce, the Transportation Club and Toastmasters. Living in Wenatchee, he enjoyed being a member of the Three Lakes Golf Club. He had a hole-in-one there and another while vacationing in Banff, Alberta, Canada. Hank was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his daughter, Becky Woodruff of Cheney, WA; and grandsons, Cody and Tyson. He also has a special cousin, Jack Durrett and his wife, Betty, who recently moved to Vancouver, WA. Hank was preceded in death by his son, Michael, who died of cancer at the age of 26; his love and soul mate, Dorothy, who died just ten months ago. He requested No Funeral and to be buried beside Dorothy and Mike, in Kennewick. WA. Graveside Memorial will be held Friday, January 22, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Riverview Heights Cemetery, in Kennewick, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to any local animal shelter or rescue group. There are two Great Danes who sure miss their Grandpa. He always brought treats when he came to visit. Becky is forever grateful for the adventures they were able to share since her mother’s passing. A special thanks to Ernie for making the trip up the Palouse Falls Canyon a reality. Hank was a trooper, smiling the whole time, not easy, at 90 years old. Alberto Castro, 55, of Othello Washington, passed away April 26, 2013. He was born in Othello Washington on September 21, 1957 to Anastacio and Enriqueta Castro. Alberto graduated from Othello High School. He has been together with Brenda Wolfe for 29 loving years. Alberto worked as an Outside Equipment Operator at Mc Cain Foods for 28 years before retiring. After retiring Alberto obtained his Commercial Drivers License and went to work for Wagner Seed Company, to keep himself busy, for 3 months, until his death. He was a successful business owner, member of the Musicians Union, the Catholic Church, and a lifelong member of the community here in Othello. He had a deep passion for all types of Music, most notably Santana. Alberto played the guitar and willingly passed on his knowledge to those who wanted to learn. Alberto was a father in every since of the word. He raised his step son's Ron and Justin as his own. He was the man he never had to be. Alberto was a friend to those he met along life's path. He knew no strangers. He is going to be sorely missed by those whose lives he's touched.
