Lions Park expansion, planning for road improvements in 2025 Royal City budget
ROYAL CITY — Royal City will spend some of its reserves to expand Lions Park and will be working on designing improvements to Apple Avenue Northeast. Royal City City Council members approved the city’s 2025 budget in December. The city’s current expense fund is budgeted at about $2 million. It’s projected to end 2025 with about $1.9 million, a decrease from $2.2 million at the end of 2024. Janice Flynn, the city’s finance director, said the city will use part of the money for Lions Park improvements. The park is located on Camelia Street. “We’re spending some of our funds,” Flynn said.
Mattawa City Council discusses year-end budget changes
During a special virtual council meeting Monday, the Mattawa City Council discussed a policy, brought by city attorney Katherine Kennison, that would take the ending fund balances for each department at the end of each fiscal year and put them back into the general fund for reallocation.

The City Council shall meet on October 23, 2012 at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers pursuant to RCW 84.55.120 and hold a public hearing on revenue sources for the city's 2013 current expense budget and on the estimated amount of property taxes to be received from assessed valuations on property within the City of Moses Lake.
