Ralph Francis Kincaid II

Ralph was born on Feb. 21, 1946, and passed away on Nov. 7, 2023. He was born in Kirksville, Missouri to Ralph and Mina Kincaid. He was the oldest of two boys. His brother Brad and his wife Piya live in Sedona, Arizona. Ralph’s dad was a farmer and later in life owned and operated a real estate office in Moses Lake. His mother did tax research for a local CPA firm. His family moved to Pasco, Washington to farm when he was 8 years old. They were one of the first families in Block 15 in the Columbia Basin project. His family farmed for three years and then moved into downtown Pasco. Ralph graduated from Pasco High School in 1964 and then attended WSU. Ralph married his high school sweetheart, Lois, and had two children, Jay Kincaid of Moses Lake, Washington and Dawn (Lou) Grespan of Tokyo and Carlsbad, California. They also have three grandchildren and one grandson-in-law: Gwen and Tommy Metzger of Dallas, Texas, Thomas Grespan of Carlsbad, California and Valerie Grespan of San Diego, California.

Washington sees first substantial decline in Japanese beetles
YAKIMA – The Washington State Department of Agriculture Pest Program saw its first substantial decline in Japanese beetle numbers after trapping more than 19,000 beetles this summer in Yakima, Benton and Franklin counties, according to a WSDA announcement.

Robert Allen Wheeler, born on October 9, 1955, in Sweet Springs, Missouri went to sleep in death in Moses Lake, Wash. on October 31, 2023, at the age of 68. He was unfortunately taken by his rare brain disease.

Patricia Joan (Jess) Goodwin
March 6, 1938 — Oct. 20, 2023
Patti was born March 6, 1938, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, Washington. She was the first born to Melvie and Myrtle (Dugger) Jess. A year and one month later she was joined by her brother, Donald, in April of 1939. Five years later, in late 1943, her cousins John and Bobbee Jo Jess joined the family, after their mother passed away and they were adopted by Melvie and Myrt. Patti loved the growing-up years in the 1940s and ’50s. She always lived in the house one mile south of Hartline that she was brought home to. Later, she moved next door into her parents’ newer home following her mother’s death and her father’s move to the summer home. The exception was four and one-half years living in Naval housing at Tongue Point Oregon (Astoria), the Jesses’ summer home at Hansville, Washington and the Goodwins’ Hoaglen Valley Ranch in Trinity County, California and finally living about 18 months on the Kerr Ranch east of Arcata, Blue Lake and Korbel, California where husband Dave logged with his brother.
Othello career showcase biggest ever
OTHELLO – More than 1,600 Othello students attended the 2023 Othello Career Showcase Tuesday, filling up both gyms at the Othello High School alongside somewhere between 60 to 70 vendors, according to a statement from the Adams County Development Council.

MOSES LAKE — A two-actor look at retirement, a group touring local schools to celebrate Hispanic heritage, music and dance honoring the culture and history of Ghana, a theater camp for children. Those are among the performances scheduled for the 2023-24 Columbia Basin Allied Arts season, which opens Friday.
