Washington state of emergency ends today

OLYMPIA — The state of emergency declared by Gov. Jay Inslee to fight the COVID–19 pandemic ends today at midnight. Inslee imposed the state of emergency in March 2020. A Washington Department of Health order mandating masks in healthcare and long-term care facilities will remain in effect, according to a press release from the governor’s office. The mask order also applies in some correctional facilities in communities with high levels of coronavirus transmission, the order said. Some rules governing workplace safety also will remain in effect. “Ending this order does not mean we take the pandemic less seriously or will lose focus on how the virus has changed the way we live,” Inslee wrote in the press release. “We will continue our commitment to (public health), but simply through different tools that are now more appropriate for the era we’ve entered.”

So cute and funny, you’ll be left in Stitches

MOSES LAKE - Stitches may not be as young as she used to be, but you can’t tell by her energy level and joy around those she loves. She’s best off as the only pet in a home since she doesn’t care for other dogs or cats – after all, she doesn’t need a backup singer when she can take center stage. She’s just shy of eight years old and is really sweet and affectionate toward people. Like all of the furry friends at Grant County Animal Outreach, Stitches is spayed/neutered, up to date on all of her shots and would dearly love a home with a loving human. If you’re unable to adopt, support pets like this beautiful Siberian Husky mix by visiting grantcountyanimaloutreach.org and clicking the “donate” button in the top-right corner of the website.

Sade puppy dog eyes

MOSES LAKE – Sade is a Siberian Husky-slash-retriever-slash-labrador-adorable mix with a red coat and happy eyes that sometimes make you think she’d like a bit of your sammich. Probably because she’d dearly love a bite of your sammich. At just a touch over two years old, she’s a medium dog that made it to the shelter on Jan. 20. She’s had all of her vaccinations and won’t be having any puppies. She will however lay on the puppy dog eyes pretty heavily for a taste of that afore-mentioned sammich. Sade is currently housed at the big dog run at Grant County Animal Outreach and is available for adoption. For those not able to adopt, hit the “donate” button at grantcountyanimaloutreach.org to support the work at GCAO. The shelter may be reached at 509-762-9616 or by email at [email protected].

A unique looking Birdie

A unique looking Birdie

MOSES LAKE – Birdie, a domestic shorthair-mix kittie would very much like to come spend her life with you and be your favorite tweet of a furry friend. She’s been at Grant County Animal Outreach since early February, and while she likes her caretakers there, she’d dearly love a forever home with lots of snuggling opportunities and maybe a toy or two to play with. Like all of the adoptable pets at GCAO, Birdie has had all of her shots and won’t be adding to the stray pet population by having any kittens. Visit Birdie in person at 6725 Randolph Road NE in Moses Lake or find out more by calling 509-762-9616 or emailing the shelter at [email protected]. If you are unable to adopt, but want to support the shelter, visit grantcountyanimaloutreach.org and click the brown “donate” button in the top-right corner.

Bailey finds a home

Bailey finds a home

SOAP LAKE — Bailey has been placed in a foster home with people who are considering adoption. She had been living in a different foster home previously, but they had to return her to Rock Bottom Rocker Pet Pantry. She is a long-haired husky and Samoyed mix, and the sand and dirt out at the rescue did not get along with her fur. Now, she will not have to worry about that as she has a comfy couch and a loving family taking care of her. Although Bailey has found a home, she has many friends at the rescue who would still like a home. Visit RockBottomRocker.org and look at the animals who are up for adoption. If you can’t adopt but you would like to help the local shelter, visit the website and click “donate.” The rescue also takes donations of dog food, cat food, animal treats and water.
