MOSES LAKE – The Moses Lake Mavericks Football team (8-0) tacked on another victory to their season Friday night when they hosted West Valley and won 72-7. The Mavs sit on top of the Big 9 after completing their final home game of the regular season.

YAKIMA – The Moses Lake Mavericks (16-1) are heading to the 4A state championship after a comeback win over Skyview. The Mavs overcame a 2-6 deficit to win the semifinal game 10-6. The Mavs were able to show off their mental strength by leaning on each other throughout the game.

YAKIMA – The Mavericks slowpitch softball team is off to a hot start in the 4A state tournament after defeating eighth-seed Lake Washington 21-0 in the first round. Head Coach Mike Hofheins said while he liked what he saw, it’s important they remain focused on sustaining their momentum.

MOSES LAKE — The kitchen is the heart of your home, so naturally you want it set up to suit you. Matt Adame, owner of RD Construction, a Moses Lake-based contractor specializing in kitchens, said the current trend in cabinets is two-tone. “In (a house) we just built, they went with white Shaker uppers and black Shaker on the bottom,” Adame said. “And then in another house, they did white panel uppers and dark gray flat acrylic on the bases as well.” The dual-style trend popped up about a year and a half ago, Adame said. Wood cabinets are cycling back into vogue as well, he said.
