Paul Daniel Brimberry
Paul Daniel Brimberry, 55, of Moses Lake, passed away on Monday, Aug. 18, 2008, at his home, following a battle with heart and kidney disease.
Joanne Sisson
Joanne Sisson passed away peacefully on Wednesday Aug. 20, 2008, at Lakeridge Special Care Center in Moses Lake. Born Joanne Ruth Rhoades to Mary Jane and Earle Dusty Rhoades on Jan. 28, 1931, in Woodland, Wash. Joanne spent most of her youth in Snohomish, Wash., and later in Coulee City, Wash., as her father was the lead diamond driller for the Grand Coulee Dam project in the 1940s. She graduated from Hartline High School in 1949. Joanne attended Central Washington University in Ellensburg, obtaining her Bachelor of Arts degree in elementary education in 1954. She then traveled to Ethiopia with her parents and taught English to Ethiopian students at the Haile Salassie Day School in Addis Ababa from 1954 to 1956. Joanne returned to central Washington in 1956 and began teaching elementary school with the Eprhata School District. She married Ronald W. Sisson on July 26, 1958, in Ephrata. A few years later they moved to Spokane when Ron began his newspaper career with the Spokane Chronicle (Spokesman Review) newspaper. Joanne chose to stay at home to raise their three children, Beth, Kent, and Becky. Joanne’s compassion for others was demonstrated through her many acts of volunteer community service and desire to help others. As a homemaker, she volunteered her time with several organizations in the Spokane area. These included Project READ and the Hmong Refugee ESL classes in which she assisted numerous individuals to read and speak the English language. Later in life, Joanne worked in the daycare field at the Guild School and the Fort Wright Montessori School in Spokane. Joanne and Ron were very active in the Garland Avenue Alliance Church in Spokane. Joanne acted as Sunday school superintendent and volunteered to organize the Pillars Fellowship meetings for several years. She always made time to assist with special projects at the church and had a strong relationship with the Lord. Joanne had many friends in both the Spokane and Ephrata communities. She was a 20-plus-year member of the Spring Hill Garden Club in Spokane and truly loved gardening and working with flowers. She received several ribbons for flower arrangements submitted to the Spokane County Fair. She and Ron retired to Ephrata in 1995. Joanne had a love for animals and truly relied on the companionship of her dog “Lexi” after Ron’s death. Joanne will be most remembered for her ability to listen, her sense of compassion, and love of God.
Donald E. Boruff
Donald E. Boruff, 75, beloved husband and father, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2008, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee following an extended illness. Donald was born in Ephrata, May 1, 1933, to F.F. “Slats” and Calista Boruff where he and his family have been lifelong residents of the Quincy/Ephrata area. After graduation from high school, Donald served two years in the U.S. Army with an honorable discharge. On Nov. 1, 1961, Donald married Bonnie V. Butcher in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Donald and Bonnie made their home on the family farm in Quincy whem Donald worked as a farmer his entire life with his father Slats.

Daleen Rae Wildre, 35, passed away Thursday, Aug. 14, 2008, at Evergreen Reservoir. Arrangements are in care of Benson Family Funeral Service, Chapel, Cemetery and Crematory, Moses Lake.
Cynthia Louise Milligan
On Aug. 14, 2008, Cynthia Louise Milligan died of surgical complications in Tijuana, Mexico. She will be sorely missed by many. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nelson Road Chapel (1849 E. Nelson Road) with Bishop Brett Bergeson of the Moses Lake 6th ward conducting. J. Roy Lawson
J. Roy Lawson, 86, passed away on Aug. 8, 2008. Born in Pullman, on May 30, 1922, he graduated high school in 1939 from Idaho Falls, Idaho, and moved to Moses Lake from Battle Ground, Wash., in 2004. Roy was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Thelma Lawson, stepson and wife, Greg and Marla Huff of Moses Lake, stepdaughters and husbands, Trudy and Edward Edgerton of Vancouver and Julie and Preston Ewing Kayes of Sequim, five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Joan Small. A memorial service will be held on Sept. 6, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home, 104 W 5th Ave., Moses Lake.

Glenn Dale Jackson
Glenn Dale Jackson, 73, a former resident of Priest River, died Thursday evening, July 17, 2008, at his home in Westport, Wash. Glenn was born on March 10, 1935, in Priest River to Alfred and Goldie (Friend) Jackson. He grew up there and graduated from High School in 1953. He served in the Army after high school and upon his honorable discharge moved to Central Washington. He then returned to Priest River after purchasing the family farm for the next 25 years. In 1985 he moved to Moses Lake for six years before moving to Westport, Wash.

Juanita Antonette Foosnes
Juanita Antonette Foosnes, 23 passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 26, 2008, at her home in Ephrata. Juanita was born Aug. 29, 1984, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Antonio Piloto and Gail Johnson. Juanita moved to Anchorage, Alaska with her family when she was 4 years old and there, she graduated from high school. Shortly after graduation, she moved to Ephrata, where she had lived since, with her husband Harry Foosnes III and their children Harry Antonio Foosnes IV, Lydia Denise Foosnes and Bianca Marie Foosnes. Juanita’s children were her life and she very much enjoyed making scrapbooks, treasuring every remembered moment. Juanita is also survived by her mother, Gail Johnson, of Moses Lake, brothers Dan Jackson, Doug Pain and Lacey Johnson, her aunt, Sandra Johnson and cousins, Trayvone, Morrisette and James Johnson. Preceding Juanita in death are her grandmother, Johnetta Marie Johnson, and her uncle and aunt, Lacey and Lydia Denise Brown. A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 1 at 1 p.m. at Benson Funeral Home, 104 W 5th Avenue, Moses Lake with Oscar Ochoa officiating.

Nellie Nadine (Olsen) Ostler passed away peacefully at her home on July 28, 2008. She was born on Jan. 5, 1934, in Firth, Idaho, the oldest of five children of Daniel Foss and Libbie Elsie Olsen.

Wesley Greenwalt
Wesley Greenwalt, age 46, passed away on July 25, 2008, in Spokane. He was born on July 31, 1961, in Odessa to David and Leota (Sackmann) Greenwalt. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1980. He was a member of the Zion Emmanuel Lutheran Church and was an avid WSU Cougar fan. Wesley lived in the Odessa area until serious health problems forced him to move to Cooper George Assisted Living in Spokane about seven years ago. Wesley is survived by his parents, David and Leota Greenwalt, grandmother Emma Deife, two brothers, Bradley A. Greenwalt and Jeffrey Greenwalt, all of Odessa, as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jacob and Lydia Greenwalt and August Sackmann, his nephew August (Gus) Greenwalt and his uncle Melvin Greenwalt. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. at Zion Emmanuel Lutheran Church with Pastor Barry Warpness officiating. Concluding services and vault interment will follow at Odessa Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Zion Emmanuel Lutheran Church or to the Ronald McDonald House.
