OLYMPIA — Property tax regulations will be changed to extend the exemptions for qualifying seniors and disabled homeowners under the provisions of a bill signed into law by Gov. Jay Inslee earlier this week. House Bill 2375 extends the exemption to qualifying property owners who have a detached accessory dwelling unit on their land. It was sponsored by Rep. Keith Goehner, R-Dryden. “This makes the exemption issue more uniform,” Goehner said. “Attached ADUs already receive a property tax exemption.”
