OTHELLO – The Adams County Sheriff’s Office announced the arrest of Dario Ochoa, 23, of Othello after receiving a report that he had stabbed his grandmother and was armed with a knife Thursday evening.

Spokane in Friday’s non-league softball contest, holding on for a 7-2 win over the Wildcats. “I like playing good teams because it makes us better,” Moses Lake Head Coach Mike Hofheins said. “What do they say, ‘Iron sharpens iron?’ Our non-league schedule is a gauntlet, and I think it makes us better than if we’re playing teams we can dominate. I think, in the long run, it’s going to be good for us.”
Judge redraws WA’s legislative map after lawsuit over Latino voters
YAKIMA —Washington's political map is set to change in response to allegations of discrimination against Latino voters, and a result could be Democrats winning more seats in the Legislature. U.S. District Court Judge Robert Lasnik approved new boundaries for several state legislative districts in a written order Friday, after ruling last year that the current map impaired the ability of Latino voters in the Yakima Valley and Pasco areas to elect their preferred candidates.
WA to study viability of ag mental health hotline
OLYMPIA – In a move aimed at supporting farmers amidst rising demands for mental health resources, the Washington state legislature allocates funds in the fiscal year 2025 budget to establish a workgroup. This group will specifically concentrate on mental health and suicide prevention within the agricultural community, aiming to address privacy and accessibility concerns.

ROYAL CITY — A new roundabout at Road 12 Southwest and South Dodson Road could be installed in 2024 - and will be, if Grant County officials can swing it. “We’re hoping to get that done in 2024,” said Grant County Engineer Dave Bren. “But we’re still working on some right of way.”
