Diesel storage tank fire near George
GEORGE – At around 11 a.m. Grant County Fire District 3 was dispatched to a 4,000 gallon above ground diesel storage fire at Williamson Precision, according to Grant County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman. The fire, located in the 3500 block of Adams Rd. S.W., was out by around 2:15 p.m., Foreman said.

SEATTLE (AP) — Clayton Kershaw tossed 5 1/3 scoreless innings in the final regular-season start of his 18-year major league career and helped the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Seattle Mariners 6-1 on Sunday. Kershaw (11-2) scattered four hits, three of them singles, and struck out seven, including the last batter he faced — the Mariners’ Eugenio Suárez. The 37-year-old left-hander turned to his slider in the top of the sixth to retire Suárez for the 3,052nd strikeout of his career. He then left the game to a standing ovation from a sellout crowd at T-Mobile Park.

Tigers defeat Mavericks in overtime on the pitch
MOSES LAKE – On Thursday, the Ephrata Tigers stormed Lions Field and brought home an overtime victory against the Mavericks. After a scoreless game in regulation, the Tigers’ fate would be decided by goalkeeper Airan Valle. The Tigers secured the victory after holding their own in penalty kicks 4-2. “I'm just like, ‘Okay, let's stay calm, and let's just save these goals,’” Valle said.

SEATTLE (AP) — Kiké Hernández hit a two-run home run, Dalton Rushing had two hits and a key RBI, and the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Seattle Mariners 3-2 on Friday night. Justin Wrobleski, the second of seven Dodgers pitchers in a bullpen game, got the win. Wrobleski (5-5) gave up three hits and struck out three in two innings. Tanner Scott got the last three outs, pitching out of a bases-loaded jam, for his 23rd save.
Body found in Moses Lake
MOSES LAKE — At around 2:00 p.m. Grant County Sheriff's Office received a call that a body had been found in Moses Lake near the 7000 block of Dune Lake Road. Sheriff’s deputies are on scene. There will be more updates as information is released to the public.

Mariners win AL West for 1st time in 24 years as Raleigh reaches 60 homers in 9-2 win over Rockies
SEATTLE (AP) — Only fitting it was Cal Raleigh who catapulted the Seattle Mariners to their first AL West championship in 24 years Wednesday night. The switch-hitting catcher launched two more homers to give him a major league-best 60 this season, and the streaking Mariners clinched the fourth division crown in the franchise's 49-year history with a 9-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies.

EPHRATA – On Tuesday, the Tigers secured a 2-1 win over the Ellensburg Bulldogs. The Tigers’ Head Coach Gary Klepec said his team earned a good win but still has some things to work on. “We played really well; we controlled the match for the most part. We had multiple chances (to score), we just have to start finishing those opportunities that we have in front of the goal. We're playing good soccer,” Klepec said.
Mavs suffer first loss in overtime
MOSES LAKE – On Tuesday, the Moses Lake Mavericks (4-1) lost a heartbreaker to the Wenatchee Panthers in a 7-6 shootout. The Mavs came out strong but struggled to put Wenatchee away. Head Coach Alysha Overland said they beat themselves.
QUINCY CITY COUNCIL POSITION 2: Spence vs. Madera
QUINCY — Incumbent Jeff Spence and challenger Rob Madera are running for Position 2 on the Quincy City Council. Both candidates were provided with identical questions that included a word limit. Madera did not respond after several requests for comment.
