Lila Doreen Rosenberg
Lila Doreen Rosenberg, 84, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at Sullivan Park Care Center in East Spokane, WA. She was born October 18th, 1929 in Rosefield Township, rural New Rockford, ND to Premo (Joe McGregor) and Emma (Utecht) Possibuon. She was baptized in New Rockford at the Emmanuel Lutheran - Missouri Synod Church. As a teenager, after instruction, Lila was confirmed as a member of this Church. She attended 1st thru 8th grades out in Rosefield and went to New Rockford High School graduating with the Class of 1947. During high school Lila was a candy striper/nurse's aide at City Hospital. Lila married Lynn Curtis Rosenberg in Moorhead, Minnesota and became a farmer's wife. Together they raised four children: Larry Ray, Douglas Hal, Rennae Annette, and Emily Jo (Jodie) in Tiffany Township; where Lila was also involved in the Tiffany Homemakers Club. When Lynn and Lila sold their farm to Billy and Ida Tedrow, the Rosenberg's moved into town where Lynn became a John Deere mechanic. Lila stayed busy with family, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) at Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Whitefish, Montana was the next home this family saw. Lynn & Lila co-owned a Gambles Hardware Store with his brother Bob & Nina Rosenberg. A job opportunity in Othello, WA called the Rosenberg's to go West one more time! Back to a John Deere shop for Lynn while Lila resumed her position as the awesome Mom (both to us kids and all of our friends!) plus her activities within her Paradise Lutheran Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. Later, once the kids were out of the house Lynn and Lila retired to Warden, WA. After Lynn's passing, Lila kept busy playing Pinochle at the Senior Center. And of course, she enjoyed watching her grandsons grow! At 84, Lila decided God's home was where she wanted to be. Prayers were answered and God took her home after about two months of serious illness. "We love ya, Mom! Your love and recipe cards for Bar-B-Q's and your Holy Baked Beans will live on forever!" Lila requested to have a plain wooden casket and a grave side service at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Warden, WA. Plans are for the service at 10 AM Thursday, January 15, 2014.
