MOSES LAKE – Moses Lake Distillery has been bottling spirits for sale in the region since 2021, operating out of a shop off of State Route 17, as well as running a small tasting room now located in Downtown Moses Lake. Owner Zachary Hughes said the distillery began as a side project.

Dorow is the chair of the “Aquatic Task Force,” which was formed after city officials announced the pool would not open in 2024 due to damage that may have been caused by faulty construction. Longtime real estate professional Alan Heroux said there are about 210 to 215 houses on the market currently, compared to a historic average of about 250 to 350 at any given time. But a couple of years ago the number was less than 30 houses for sale at any given time, he said.

MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Health District released a statement saying there is an outbreak of COVID-19 in a long-term care facility in Grant County. The facility was not named in the statement. “Our recent outbreak is a painful reminder that COVID-19 can still have a devastating impact, especially for older adults and people with underlying health conditions”, Grant County Health Officer Dr. Alexander Brzezny wrote in the statement. “Our hearts are with the families and friends grieving the loss of their loved ones who passed away during this outbreak.”

2023 operating loss at Ritzville hospital larger than reported

RITZVILLE — East Adams Rural Healthcare lost more money in 2023 than originally reported, according to an audit submitted to EARH commissioners Oct. 15. Joe Lodge, accountant for DZA, Spokane, said Ritzville hospital lost about $5.6 million in 2023. Lodge said the losses were related to higher expenses and revenue that remained relatively flat.

GCFD 3 to add new advanced life support vehicle

QUINCY — Grant County Fire District 3 will begin implementing the recommendations from a study that looked at ways to strengthen emergency medical services in the Quincy Valley. The district will add another vehicle for EMS calls to the district’s inventory. “The next step will be to add a fire-based advanced life support intercept unit in George,” said GCFD 3 Chief David Durfee. “It’s an important step for EMS in the Quincy Valley.”
