Witnesses sought in fatal Moses Lake crash
MOSES LAKE — Moses Lake Police Department officers are looking for the occupants of a red or maroon Dodge pickup, possibly 2010-18 model years, that may have information concerning a fatal crash Oct. 20 at about 7:30 a.m. near Broadway and Division.
Telehandler accident near Royal City sends 1 to hospital
ROYAL CITY — One subject was injured when the telehandler he was driving lost its brakes and crashed at a moderate speed into an apple orchard in rural Royal City, according to a statement made by Grant County Sheriff’s Office.
Collision kills driver near Quincy
QUINCY — Adams Road near Quincy was closed for about three and a half hours Wednesday afternoon due to a collision between a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle. The car’s driver was killed in the crash. The collision occurred at about 12:45 p.m., according to a release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, between Road 5 Northwest and Road 6 Northwest. The driver’s name was withheld pending notification of family members, said Kyle Foreman, GCSO public information officer. The case is still under investigation.
Hit-and-run east of Othello injures four
OTHELLO — Four people were transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland after they were injured in a crash about 20 miles east of Othello Wednesday. One of the drivers involved in the three-car collision fled the scene. Nelly Kereiyian, 32, Pullman, and Timothy Oronge, 41, Everett, a 6-year-old boy and a 10-year-old boy were transported to Kadlec after the van they were in rolled down an embankment, according to a statement from the Washington State Patrol. Passengers Fatina Jepleting, 26, and Erick Kayioni, 37, both of Pullman, were unhurt, the WSP wrote. Kereiyian was driving east on state Route 26 at the Highway 395 overpass at about 5 p.m. Wednesday when a vehicle heading stopped at the top of the Highway 295 offramp pulled out in front of her, the statement said. Kereiyian attempted to avoid the vehicle and lost control, crossing into the eastbound lane.
One dead, another injured in one-vehicle crash
MARLIN – A 33-year-old man from Moses Lake, Don “Chris” Terrell, was killed in a one-vehicle accident early Friday morning near Marlin, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

Three injured in two separate collisions near Othello
OTHELLO — An Othello woman was injured and charges are pending against a Moses Lake man following a head-on collision near Othello Saturday evening. An Othello man was injured when his car was hit while he was directing traffic at the scene after the initial crash. According to a press release from the Washington State Patrol, Demetrio Robles, 19, of Moses Lake was driving north on State Route 17 about two miles north of Othello when he crossed the centerline and ran head-on into a vehicle driven by Nancy Cortes, 44. The collision occurred at about 8:30 p.m.

Man arrested after pursuit in Othello for vehicle theft
OTHELLO — At around 11:30 p.m. Monday, Othello Police Department units pursued a stolen vehicle. Officers had attempted a traffic stop, but the driver failed to yield, prompting the pursuit, said Detective Sergeant Brent McFarlane.
Crash near Washtucna claims 1, closes road
WASHTUCNA — A collision on state Route 26 just west of Washtucna claimed a life Thursday morning, according to a statement from the Washington State Patrol. At a little after 11 a.m., a Ford pickup was traveling southbound on Marcellus Road about six miles west of Washtucna and failed to stop at the stop sign on SR 26, said WSP Public Information Officer Sgt. Greg Riddell. The pickup was struck by a semi-truck traveling westbound on SR 26 and came to rest on the westbound shoulder of the highway. The semi came to rest on the eastbound shoulder.
CBIT continues jail death investigation
EPHRATA – The Central Basin Investigative Team determined that Richard Lambert’s death at the Grant County Jail was due to sepsis caused by an accident prior to his arrest, according to a statement from Ephrata Police Department Captain Troy Froewiss. Froewiss was not available for comment Thursday.
Fourth suspect arrested in kidnapping, assault case
MOSES LAKE — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a fourth suspect involved in the alleged imprisonment and assault of a Moses Lake woman Wednesday. A driver who was fleeing from law enforcement in connection with the incident, and was killed in a crash, has been identified.
Mattawa crash injures one
MATTAWA — A Renton man was transported to Kadlec Regional Medical Center Wednesday after he drove off the road and rolled his semitruck. Kibret Ghulbet, 39, was driving south on State Route 234 about 13 miles south of Mattawa Wednesday when he ran off the road, according to a press memo from the Washington State Patrol. Ghulbet overcorrected and rolled his truck. The crash closed SR 243 for about four hours.
