Linda Taylor
December 14, 1936 – November 1, 2025
Linda was born on Dec. 14, 1936, in Havre, Montana to Leo and Edith Wall. Linda did not meet her father, Leo, as he died the day before she was born. Linda lived with her mother and maternal grandparents Hilbert and Eva Peterson until she was 5 years old. At this time, her mother Edith married Verlin Hurd. Verlin adopted Linda, and she affectionately called him Daddy, and she then was Linda Hurd. Four siblings followed into the Hurd family: Ruth, Sandra, Sharon and Russell. Linda graduated from Big Sandy High School in 1954. She then attended Pacific Lutheran College and graduated in 1958 with a degree in education. Her first job was in the Shoreline School District, just outside of Seattle, where she taught second grade. While there, she met Dean Taylor, who was a senior in dental school at the University of Washington.
