Bills to establish universal health care for Washington residents were proposed in both the house and senate. The bill has been backed with 11 cosponsors in the house and 17 in the senate. Now the bills will go to their corresponding committees for review. The committees will hold public meetings in regard to the bills.

Washington legislators consider universal health care
OLYMPIA — The Washington Health Trust, a statewide initiative for universal health care, is supporting proposals introduced in both the Senate and House (House Bill 1445 and Senate Bill 5233), according to a statement from the group.
