Julio Rodriguez homers for fourth straight 20-20 season as Mariners beat Rangers
SEATTLE (AP) — Julio Rodriguez homered to become the first player in major league history with 20 or more home runs and 20 or more stolen bases in each of his first four seasons, and the Seattle Mariners beat the Texas Rangers 5-4 on Sunday. Rodriguez hit a two-run shot in the third inning — his 100th career homer — and the slugging and speedy center fielder also added his 21st stolen base of the season after singling in the fifth inning.
Mariners trade wins Friday and Saturday in series with Rangers
SEATTLE — The Mariners split wins with the Texas Rangers in Friday and Saturday play as they faced the Lone Star State team on the Mariners’ home diamond. The Mariners grabbed a 4-3 win Friday after dropping the Rangers 6-0 Thursday, but lost a bit of momentum Saturday in a hard-fought 11 innings that led to a 6-4 loss for the Washington team.
