PULLMAN - Washington State University researcher Troy Bankhead has been awarded nearly $2.7 million in grants to unlock the secrets of how the bacteria that causes Lyme disease, Borrelia burgdorferi, manages to evade its host’s immune system and establish a persistent infection.
