A bill signed into law by Gov. Jay Inslee Wednesday would allow low- and moderate-income housing to be built on unused Department of Natural Resources land, including this 25-acre parcel south of Moses Lake. DNR officials said the move would allow public lands to be utilized to counter the housing shortage across the state.

OLYMPIA — Two bills requested by the Department of Natural Resources, House Bill 2003 and House Bill 2091, were signed into law Wednesday, according to a Wednesday announcement from the Washington Department of Natural Resources.
