While the Grant County Jail, shown above, is in line to get replaced in the next several months, a new facility isn’t the only thing legal officials in the county are leaning on to make headway in the fight against crime. Judges, public defenders and prosecutors are working together to develop a drug court for the county which they hope will save the county money and help repeat offenders step away from drug addiction which leads to additional crimes.

Grant County works to establish drug court
EPHRATA — Grant County is in the process of implementing a drug court aimed at reducing recidivism among defendants with a history of drug use associated with their alleged crimes.
