Cartridges loaded with samples from the antigen test are loaded into small, toaster-sized diagnostic tools called Sophia, produced by California-based healthcare manufacturer Quidel. After 15 minutes, the screen displays either a negative sign or a positive sign, depending on whether antigens were detected.
