The main street of White Bluffs as it looked in 1922. The picture is looking east towards the river. On the left is the Commercial Hotel, formerly Oasis Saloon, with the Leggett Mercantile Store, on the right. They were moved from East White Bluffs, the original site of the town on the east side of the Columbia River.

HANFORD — The towns of Hanford and White Bluffs were growing towns until 1943 when residents were told to leave to make way for the Manhattan Project.
