Ephrata's Dalton Thomas, 12 years old, was another successful turkey hunter on the youth hunt last weekend. His turkey weighted about 23 pounds and had a 9.5-inch beard. This was this third youth hunt, but his first successful one. Way to go Dalton.

Lowland lakes fishing season opens tomorrow
The big opening each year is called the lowland lakes opener. This includes Blue, Park, Deep lakes in the Sun Lakes area, plus a few others scattered around the Columbia Basin. The big day is tomorrow, April 28.
