Statewide burn ban to end Sept. 30, but fire season isn’t over yet
The statewide burn ban is set to end Sept. 30; however, fire officials are warning residents this does not mean fire season has concluded. Grant County Fire District 7 responded to a brush fire in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue SW Sept. 18. Firefighters were able to contain the fire in 15 minutes, but Chief Erick Brittain said this just goes to show there are still dry fuels on the landscape.
