Virginia Mary Medrano Woolever

Virginia Mary Medrano Woolever passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family Sept. 1, 2026. She was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and aunt whom we will miss deeply. 

Virginia was born April 14, 1951, in Yakima, Washington to Robert and Mary Medrano. In 1959, Virginia and family moved to Moses Lake where she lived until her passing. She attended school in Moses Lake, graduating in 1970. Shortly thereafter she started working at Pronto, which eventually became Nestle, until retirement. Growing up, Virginia was a quiet child who preferred to stay close to home. As a teenager she liked to go to places like “the movies,” but lo and behold when the movie ended there was no Virginia to be found, even after her mom drove round and round the block. No one could look her mom straight in the eye and lie like Virginia; well, that was until Wendy came along. 

On May 15, 1975, Virginia welcomed her only child, Wendy Lynn. Although Wendy was raised by her grandmother, their mother/daughter relationship grew to that of best friends. They did everything together and shared the love of country music, their fur babies, and eventually watching Donnie Wahlberg on “Blue Bloods.” 

Virginia was also blessed on July 4, 1999, with her only grandson Armando. While missing the opportunity to raise her daughter she had the joy of helping Wendy raise Armando. You would never know Virginia only had one child with the outpouring of love she showed to all her nieces and nephews and their children, not missing any of their school functions, sporting events, birthdays or graduations and even driving to Tonasket to surprise her great-nephew and -niece at their graduations.

Even though Virginia was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2004, she never let that slow down her enjoyment of time spent with family and loved ones. She also loved painting rocks and shared her love of reading with her sister Hope, which they both passed down to her nieces Jody and Sheila and great-nieces Destinee and Alexis.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Wendy Dominguez; grandson Armando Dominguez; sister Hope (Ron) Strnad; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and even great-great-nieces and -nephews (including a great-great-niece on the way); large extended family; her fur babies Zoe and Shadow; and her grand-fur babies Mary Jane and Marcelene, all of whom she loved so very much. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Medrano, brothers Mark Paul and Bobby Medrano and many other family members.

Virginia’s family would like to thank Always Caring Homecare, Assured Home Health and Hospice and our cousins Debbie and Vanessa Padron for the care they provided in her final months. 

We also want to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Wendy and our mom Hope for all the love and care they have always unconditionally shown to our loving Aunt Virginia. This was especially instrumental in her last few months of life. We all will miss her so very much. Rest easy, Aunt Virginia, and keep sharing that beautiful smile up there. A celebration of life to honor Virginia will be held at Restore City Church, 2227 W. Peninsula Drive, Moses Lake, Washington on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. A reception will follow after the service. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Moses Lake Animal Shelter.
