La Vonda June Schrodt
LaVonda June Schrodt, lovingly known as June, passed away on Oct. 15, 2026, at the age of 84, in Moses Lake, Washington.
June was born on Nov. 21, 1941, in Bardley, Missouri, to Odis and Grace Presley. She grew up in a large family with nine siblings. June graduated from Granger High School in 1959. On June 14, 1959, she married the love of her life, Elbert L. (Bill) Schrodt Jr. in Granger, Washington. Later, June and Bill moved to Warden, Washington, where they built a life together and raised their four children. Throughout her working years, June worked as a waitress before becoming a laboratory technician at McCain Foods in Othello, Washington. She brought dedication and a strong work ethic to her work throughout her life.
June found happiness in life’s simple pleasures and in the time she spent with the people she loved. She enjoyed playing bingo and cards, spending time with family, sewing, crafting and gardening, especially tending to her rose garden. June also loved cooking and bringing people together around the table. She would always make a meal, even if only one person showed up, because feeding others was one of the ways she showed her love and care. June never missed an opportunity to talk about her family, proudly sharing their accomplishments, stories, and the love she had for each of them.
Their family continued to grow through the years, and together June and Bill were blessed with 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, all of whom are part of their lasting legacy. June and Bill often had a house full of family, filled with laughter, card playing, good food and the busy work of life on the farm. Those gatherings created cherished memories that their family will carry with them always.
June’s passing leaves a space in the hearts of her family that can never be filled. She will be remembered for the life she lived, the family she helped build, and the memories shared across generations. Though she is no longer with us, her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and all who knew and loved her.
June was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bill; her grandson, Kevin Ford; her parents, Odis and Grace Presley; and her siblings who passed before her, including Sterling, Richard, Dauche, William, Paul, Carl and Marvin.
She is survived by her four children Edward Schrodt, Melissa and Nate Kulp, Cynthia Schrodt and Chad Speziale, and Tony and Laurie Ford; her surviving siblings Mildred Knowles and Jerry Flett; and all 17 of her surviving grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson who will carry her memory in their hearts, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
