MOSES LAKE — The Moses Lake Museum & Art Center’s annual Members Exhibition will open Friday, according to an announcement from the museum.

The exhibition will kick off with a reception from 4 to 7 p.m. at the museum, according to the announcement. There will be live music and light refreshments, and an opportunity to meet some of the artists. The reception is free and open to the public.

“The Members Exhibition is a show designed to highlight the museum’s greatest asset – its members,” Museum Communication Coordinator Natalia Zuyeva wrote in the announcement. “From those just beginning to dabble in the arts to lifelong career artists, from watercolors to fused glass, and from youth to seniors, the exhibition offers a unique opportunity for artists of all kinds to share their work with the community.”

This is the fifth year the museum has held the Members Exhibition, according to Columbia Basin Herald archives. Artists who hold a museum membership are invited to submit art, and the museum tries to get at least one piece by each artist in, Museum Superintendent Dollie Boyd told the Columbia Basin Herald in a previous interview.

Along with the opening reception will be Art After Hours, an all-adult craft program. The project will be melting snowman ornaments, according to the announcement.

“The Members Exhibition is the gallery show I look forward to year after year,” Gallery Coordinator Veronica Talbot wrote in the announcement. “Watching the members come together for a night out in the community, chatting amongst themselves, and showing friends and families each other’s work, is just exciting to see. This year, we had many new artists join the membership program, and I am excited to see them share their art.”
