Missing Moses Lake man found deceased near Summer Falls
COULEE CITY — Investigators from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office have recovered the body of what is believed to be Anthony Mann, 39, of Moses Lake, who was reported missing May 15 from Moses Lake.
“We all hope that there would have been a happier ending, but we hope that finding his body and bringing him home helps to bring some comfort to his loved ones,” GCSO Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said.
Mann’s vehicle was found unoccupied three days after he was reported missing near Trail Lake, according to Foreman.
“After we found the vehicle, deputies and searchers were on horseback and ORVs for two days and also using drones to search the area around Trail Lake. Neither day did they find any sign of Anthony Mann,” Foreman said.
Investigators continued to check the area periodically throughout the rest of the week looking for signs of Mann, according to Foreman.
On Sunday night, a person found the body at the top of Summer Falls and reported it at around 7 p.m. Investigators are confident the man found is Mann, according to GCSO.
“He was found around five miles downstream from where his vehicle was found and his vehicle was found next to Trail Lake, next to a main irrigation canal,” Foreman said.
Foreman said investigators have nothing to indicate foul play at this time; however, an autopsy will be conducted by the Grant County Coroner's office this week.
Mann’s family was notified Monday morning, according to GCSO.
