Shots fired during graffiti incident in Quincy, QPD looking for assistance

QUINCY — Quincy Police responded to shots fired at around 3:20 a.m. Thursday morning in the area of 6th Ave. NE and H.5 St. NE. They are asking for the community's assistance in identifying the suspect.  

During the investigation, officers learned a male subject described as wearing a red hoodie, shorts and a black fanny pack was observed by a passerby tagging a fence in the area. When the passerby later circled back to confirm what they had seen, the male subject reportedly fired multiple shots towards the passerby, according to QPD. 

Several shell casings were located at the scene, and the victim was not injured in the incident, according to QPD.  

QPD is looking for any additional information including surveillance camera footage. Residents who believe their homes or property may have been struck by gunfire were asked to contact MACC Dispatch’s non-emergency line at 509-787-2222.
