Multiple Basin athletes named to All-Region team

MOSES LAKE — The Northwest Athletic Conference announced their softball All-Region awards for the North, South and East regions. In the East, several local athletes from the Basin earned these honors.  

See below which players were rewarded for their contributions on the field this season.  

Big Bend Community College 

Mady Morris – First Team 

According to BBCC Athletics, Morris totaled 107 at-bats in her freshman season, earning 44 hits and 22 runs. Additionally, she recorded 14 doubles, one triple, 21 RBIs and eight home runs. As a catcher, she also totaled 92 put-outs and 27 assists on 129 total chances.

Walla Walla Community College 

Paige Richardson – First Team 

In her freshman season as a pitcher, Richardson went 18-6 overall. The former Moses Lake Maverick pitched 106 innings and faced 582 batters, allowing 154 hits, 126 runs and 102 strikeouts. She averages 6.69 outs every seven innings according to WWCC Athletics.  

Kaydence Hector – First Team 

Hector earned first team honors as an infielder for the Warriors this season, according to the NWAC. On 173 total chances, she recorded 83 put outs and 77 assists.  

Emi Pruneda – Second Team 

Pruneda was recognized for her contributions in the outfield, according to the NWACs statement. With 61 total chances, she recorded 58 put outs, three assists and zero errors in 39 games, according to WWCC Athletics.
