Sand Dunes collision results in one fatality
BEVERLY — The Grant County Sheriff’s Office reported an overnight collision at the Beverly Sand Dunes on Saturday which resulted in the death of a 36-year-old man.
Alexander Munday, of Cle Elum, was the passenger in an all-terrain vehicle which became submerged upside down in Crab Creek Saturday night. Munday died at the scene. The collision is being investigated by the Grant County Sheriff’s Motor Traffic Unit.
“There was nothing to indicate misconduct or anything criminal about what happened," GCSO Public Information Officer Kyle Foreman said. “The Motor Traffic Unit is treating this as an accident.”
Munday’s remains are in the care of Grant County Coroner Craig Morrison, whose staff will complete an autopsy. The next of kin was notified.
