Ruthann Keith

| March 20, 2026 4:13 PM

Ruthann Keith passed away on March 6, 2026, at 67 years old.  She was born November 18, 1958, in Spokane, Wash.

In her younger years, Ruthann started Sunshine Appaloosa Horse Ranch for breeding and training, and apprenticed with John Lyons, a premier trainer.  She used this knowledge to put on seminars for children.

Ruthann then went to Alaska, where she worked on a fishing and canning ship. She then returned home and worked with her horses until she decided to get her CDL. She did long-haul trucking for several companies before purchasing her own truck. She did that for 20 years and met many amazing people. Ruthann was also instrumental in bringing awareness to the dumping of toxic waste on hay fields, which caused birth defects in horses. This helped with the book, “Fateful Harvest.”

Health issues forced her to stop driving a truck, and she continued to battle those health issues until her passing. She passed among her family and friends.

Ruthann was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Orissa Schulz, and her husband, David.

She is survived by her brother, Ryan Schulz, of Soap Lake, Wash.; and nephew, Kyle Schulz, of Lind, Wash.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being assisted by Heritage Memorial Chapel of East Wenatchee. Please leave your thoughts and memories at HeritageMemorialChapel.com
