CITY OF QUINCY NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Date of Public Hearing: Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 6:00 PM. Description of Proposal: The City of Quincy proposes to amend its code pursuant to the Growth Management Act under RCW 36.70A.510 and 36.70.547, which requires counties and cities to adopt development regulations that discourage the siting of incompatible uses adjacent to general aviation airports. The proposed code amendment will establish an Airport Overlay Zone (AOZ) that modifies the underlying land-use standards of zoning districts in the vicinity of the Quincy Municipal Airport. These regulations will not apply to areas outside the City limits unless annexed into the City. Any new developments pursuant to the code amendment would be required to complete the required permitting process and environmental review. Requested Approvals, Action, and/or Required Studies: The adoption of an ordinance requires two Public Hearings, one before Planning Commission which was previously held on February 9, 2026 and one before City Council, and final approval of the City Council. Public Comment Period: The public is encouraged to provide written comments prior to the public hearing on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 by 5:00 PM. Any interested person or party may comment on the proposed ordinance during the comment period, receive notice of, and participate in any hearing, request a copy of the decision once it is made, and may appeal the decision, subject to the requirements of Quincy Municipal Code (QMC) Chapter 17. Public Hearing Information: Pursuant to Quincy Municipal Code Chapter 17, a public hearing is scheduled to hear public comment on the proposed ordinance. The public is invited to attend and provide comments on this proposal.
