Moses Lake resident assaulted Sunday
MOSES LAKE — Four Moses Lake Police Department officers were dispatched to Samaritan Hospital Sunday afternoon for an obvious assault of a 30-year-old Moses Lake resident, according to MLPD Chief Dave Sands.
“Officers got there, and the victim had injuries to his head and some stab wounds,” Sands said. “The victim didn’t tell us a whole lot.”
The victim said he remembered being in a park; however, his call records show he was located near a gas station on South Pioneer Way and East Nelson Road, Sands said.
“It’s unknown where the assault occurred at this point, we did process the area, which is why there was a large presence of police vehicles in the area,” Sands said.
Sands said the victim has been transferred to a Spokane area hospital to receive further care.
The investigation is ongoing. Sands asked for anyone with relevant information to contact MLPD at 509-762-1160 and asks to speak to Officer Matt Harum.
“I know the detectives are out now, doing some work on it that they continue to investigate,” Sands said. “So, it is possible that maybe tomorrow or later this week, we will have more information. As soon as we do, we will update the community.”
Anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact MLPD at 509-762-1160 and ask to speak to Officer Matt Harum.
