Moses Lake man arrested after pursuit
MOSES LAKE — A Moses Lake man was arrested March 5 after leading officers on a short pursuit and breaking into a house.
Julian Cardenas, 23, was arrested when officers found him running through nearby yards after abandoning his vehicle, according to a release from the Moses Lake Police Department. Officers had attempted to stop Cardenas near the intersection of North Daniel Street and West Gary Street.
Cardenas fled, abandoned his vehicle near Lybbert Drive Northeast, then ran into an unlocked house, stealing a phone before fleeing on foot, the MLPD release said. A Grant County Sheriff’s Office K-9 unit helped track Cardenas, while a drone spotted him running through the neighborhood. He was eventually taken into custody without incident.
While attempting to elude police, Cardenas threw away several items, including a handgun, that were later recovered, the release said.
Leads from that investigation led MLPD officers to obtain and serve a search warrant on a residence in the North Daniel Street neighborhood. Officers found drugs and guns in the residence and arrested Robert Reasonable, 24, the release said.
Cardenas and Reasonable were transported to Spokane. Local charges are pending, the release said.
