Royal girls grab third at state after semifinal loss

YAKIMA — The Royal Knights girls squad (23-5) finished in third place in the 1A state basketball tournament after a lengthy run to the semifinals where they were defeated by the King’s Knights 42-27. From there, they bounced back with a competitive 44-42 win over Lynden Christian to secure third place.
