Basin teams compete in round of 12 at state

MOSES LAKE — Five teams from the Columbia Basin are competing in the state tournament this week, with three of those teams competing in the Round of 12 across the 1A and 1B tournaments in Yakima and Spokane. See the results of Royal and Moses Lake Christian Academy/Covenant Christian School’s boys teams below. 

*Almira/Coulee-Hartline’s girls team competed at 9 p.m. Wednesday against Lummi Nation. The results of that game will be posted when they become available. 

The number three-seeded Royal Knights played in a dominant game against Overlake Wednesday morning, winning 61-33 to punch their ticket for the Quarterfinals. The Knights move on to face the fifth seed, Annie Wright, at 9 a.m. Thursday.

The fifth-seeded MLCA/CCS Lions had a tight matchup against Touchet that came down to the wire. The Lions claimed a 47-45 victory to move on to the Quarterfinals against the number three seed Tulalip Heritage at 12:15 p.m. Thursday.
