SOAP LAKE — The annual 3v3 Vape Awareness Basketball Tournament has opened registrations for teams to sign up for this year’s competition. The tournament is once again brought together by the Soap Lake Prevention Coalition and the many sponsors from around the area with the goal of bringing awareness to vaping and its effects on youth and athletes.

The competition is open to youth ages 13-18 with designated groups for ages 13-15 and 16-18. Youth teams will play for free in the tournament. Parent consent is required for contestants under 18.

Youth who pre-register will receive a free sports bag and all registered youth participants will receive a tournament shirt.

Teams consisting of players over the age of 18 are also welcome to compete with a $50 registration fee attached for adult teams.

Registered teams can consist of up to four players with an option to have a spot open on the bench.

The tournament is set for July 4 at Smokiam Park with onsite registration and check-ins at 7:30 a.m. and tip off at 8 a.m. Teams that are scheduled to play first are requested to arrive at least 15 minutes early to the competition. No shows may result in a forfeit for the assigned team.
